International Youth and Children’s Sketching Competition aims to guide young artists in using charcoal as their medium and light and shadow as their language. Whether depicting a porcelain plate laden with fruit on a desk, using fine, dense lines to capture the porcelain's sheen and the fruit's texture; or sketching a wooden chair leaning against a suburban wall, employing varying shades of charcoal to express the wood grain and play of light and shadow; or capturing the profile of a classmate to emphasize three-dimensional contours through light-dark contrast—all allow participants to explore the structural beauty of objects through the tension of lines and the gradations of gray, honing their professional skills in form perception and detail capture. The competition further establishes a cross-border artistic exchange platform, enabling young creators to share their observations of the world through their work. Through mutual appreciation, they elevate their aesthetic literacy and build confidence in practical skills like perspective application and texture rendering, injecting vibrant energy into the international youth art scene.
